SSCC-18 Barcodes
SSCC-18 (Serialised Shipping Container Codes), often referred to as “Pallet Codes” are 18-digit barcodes used to track logistics units, typically pallets containing a combination of trade items packaged together. These barcodes are commonly used on multiple cartons, each featuring an ITF-14 Carton Code.
Retailers with large distribution centers often require SSCC-18 barcodes to track pallets within their warehouses.
The SSCC-18 barcode serves as a unique identifier, allowing retailers to track each pallet as it moves through their distribution centers or warehouses. These barcodes are sequential, with each pallet receiving a unique SSCC-18 number. Once an SSCC-18 barcode is used, it is typically discarded and replaced with a new one for the next pallet.
For example:
- The first pallet would use 00706502753100000(8).
- The second pallet would use 00706502753100001(5), and so on.
